Konnected.IO Enclosure Installation
1. Unpack the contents of your box to confirm you received the following
- Enclosure base and cover
- n-way DC power pigtail
- Wall mounting screws (4)
- Plastic wall anchors (4)
- · Module mounting screws (2 per module)
- Cover screws (2)
2. Attaching the enclosure base to the wall
a.Taking into consideration the length of your existing alarm wiring, locate a suitable place to mount your en- closure. For a clean install, consider how best to route your wires.
b. While holding the enclosure up to the wall, use a level to ensure the enclosure is level, and mark the location of the 4 mounting holes
c. Using a 3/16” drill bit, drill holes for each mounting location – just deep enough to accommodate the wall anchors. If installing into something other than sheetrock, use a suitable method, and other suitable anchors (not included) may be needed.
d. Insert the plastic wall anchors and tap lightly with a hammer to ensure they are flush with the wall surface.
e. Attach the enclosure base to the wall using the 4 enclosure mounting screws (these will be the 4 longest screws in your hardware packet). Tighten the screws snuggly, but do not over tighten.
3. Preparing your modules
a. It is easiest to prepare your modules prior to installing them into the enclosure base. Attach all wires as per directions that came with your Konnected.IO module.
4. Installing your modules into the enclosure
a. Starting with the module to the left, and working towards your right, place each module onto the base. Two holes (opposite corners to each other) will simply lay onto the pins of two of the standoffs, while the other two holes will be used to retain the module with screws.
b.All wiring should come into the enclosure from one of the provided cutouts in the bottom left corner of the enclosure.
c. Insert a screw into each of the two holes and tighten until snug. Do not overtighten screws just need to snuggly hold the module to the base.
d. Proceed similarly with the remaining modules in your enclosure base.
5. Wire management and power
a. Take a moment to tidy up the wiring for each module so that your installation is organized and clean. You may wish to use small wire tires to best organize and route your wires.
b. Attaching your DC power pigtail
c. Once all modules are installed into the enclosure and wires routed, plug your DC power pigtail into each of the modules – the spacing of each plug will correspond to each of your modules DC power jacks.
d. The supply end of the DC power pigtail should exit the enclosure from the provided cutout in the bottom left corner.
e. Attach your DC power supply (not included) to the pig-tail.
f. Plug in your DC power supply to your power outlet and verify hat all modules come on.
6. Attaching the enclosure cover
a. When attaching the cover, ensure that all four sides slide on to the enclosure base evenly so as not to bind on any one side.
b. Your enclosure cover fits snugly over the enclosure base, however if you prefer, use the include screws to attach more securely. Screws should be installed snuggly, but not overtightened.
